Hi there.
If you’ve stuck with me so far, thank you.
As you can see, the quality drops off massively after page 18. Why that is:
- I write a story structure
- I flesh it out into a Storyboarding Script
- I make that script into a storyboard
- I do the final illustration
All of these things take different skills, different moods, different working set-ups. So I find I’m not able to do it all at once for each chapter. I parcel out the work into manageable chunks. All of these parts are happening in tandem, right now:
- I’ve structured up to Chapter 7
- I’ve written the storyboard script up to Chapter 6
- I’ve finished the storyboard up to Chapter 3
- I’m halfway through the final illustration for Chapter 1
My self-funded time off to make this book ends in September. My goal is to have the entire book Structured, all interviews done, all Storyboard scripted. If I get all of the storyboards done, that’s my ideal, but it’ll be a close thing.
There is no way I’ll get the final illustration done this year. I’m getting faster and faster at illustrating, but remember, I’m a beginner at all of this. It’ll take ages. And I have to go back to full-time work in September.
Nevertheless: I’ll publish the storyboards as I finish them, so that you can read along. That’ll make a book. The illustration is just to make it look nice.
Thank you for reading,
Oscar
thanks for your work, keep doing it
